Vision
A society where every person — regardless of birth or circumstance — has the means to learn, to heal and to live with dignity.
Babu Jagajivan Ram National Educational Trust serves the depressed classes and society at large — through education, healthcare and community upliftment. Without profit motive. Without distinction of caste, creed or religion.

Established as a public charitable trust on 3 August 1992 in Bangalore by Shri D. Eerappa and Smt. Hemi Manjunatha, the Trust was reconstituted in 2006 and again in 2016 to renew its commitment to long-term service. It is named in honour of Babu Jagjivan Ram — freedom fighter, statesman, and lifelong champion of the depressed classes.

Early years of building rural medical camps, scholarship pilots and a network of supporters.
Renewed governance and a sharpened focus on long-term educational and social outcomes.
33+ years of service across education, healthcare, shelter and community engagement.

The Trust bears the name of Babu Jagjivan Ram (1908–1986) — a towering freedom fighter and statesman whose life's work was the upliftment of the depressed classes. He believed that dignity, education and opportunity were not gifts to be granted, but rights to be honoured.
Education is not charity to be given to the few — it is a right, owed to every child of this nation.
From classrooms to clinics, from shelter to scholarship — every object of the Trust is shaped by the belief that real change is patient, long-term and human.
“My daughter is in college today because the Trust believed in her when no one else did. They didn't give us charity — they gave us a future.”
“We do not measure our work in buildings, but in lives lifted. In a child who finishes school. A mother who finds care. An elder who is no longer alone.”
For more than three decades, our community has placed its trust in us. That trust is the only currency we keep. On behalf of every trustee, volunteer and beneficiary — thank you for walking this road with us.
Our trustees serve voluntarily, guided by integrity, transparency and the founding vision of the Trust.
Honouring our founders — Shri D. Eerappa and Smt. Hemi Manjunatha — whose belief in 1992 became our foundation today.
